Rosenau Sinfonia

Professional Chamber Orchestra

- London, UK and Europe -

About

The Rosenau Sinfonia was founded by its Artistic Director Stephen Anthony Brown in 2012 to perform a diverse range of concerts and outreach events across the UK and Europe.

The orchestra is selected from musicians who regularly appear in major symphony orchestras, experienced session musicians and London's West End theatres.

For Naxos, the orchestra recorded Timothy Hamilton's Requiem for the Fallen under the composer's direction to critical acclaim.

'The tenor-turned-conductor Stephen Anthony Brown had the score's full measure and drew secure, committed playing from the Rosenau Sinfonia as well as from the singers. It had all been meticulously prepared.'

Mark Valencia - Opera Magazine

'The Rosenau Sinfonia is polished and convincing, especially in the Requiem's one instrumental movement, the interlude 'Lest We Forget''

Krishan Oberoi - American record guide

Performances

Regular clients have included high profile advertising companies who use the orchestra to record radio and television music.

In addition to a busy recording and concert schedule, the orchestra is involved with education projects, performing exciting and unusual music in unusual places.Recent concert highlights have included a gala performance at the Santa Maria Polo Club, Sotogrande, Spain for the Jose Carreras Foundation.

An association with the Samoan arts collective GAFA has led to concerts of major choral works such as the Brahms and Verdi Requiems and Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius. After a collaboration with GAFA to perform Wagner's Siegfried in 2019 the orchestra was delighted to perform the whole of Wagner's epic music drama Der Ring des Nibelungen in the autumn of 2021.
